Mr D. J. Inkster, the Christchurch swimming coach, has received his second major honour within a week. He has been named coach of the six New Zealand swimmers who will compete in the Queensland and Australian winter championships in Brisbane from August 21 to 29. Last Friday, Mr Inkster was named the “professional swimming coach” of the year at the coaches* annual forum in Palmerston North. Among the swimmers he coaches are the New Zealand representative, Miss G J. Whiting, and E. Box. His appointment was announced by the New Zealand selectors (Messrs A. J. Donaldson and R. Shakespeare) last evening. The team leaves on August 19. Also announced last evening was a team of two divers, both North Islanders, to compete in the Australian winter diving championships at Melbourne on September 4 and 5. They are M.
