Oxygen sets given
Three portable oxygen sets will this evening be presented to the St John Ambulance Brigade by the ExPrisoners’ of War Association.
The sets, worth about $BO each, were the first the brigade had acquired, said the brigade’s publicity officer (Mr C. R. Tremewan). Used with resuscitation equipment, they would greatly assist the immediate treatment of persons who had collapsed. Each set had enough oxygen for about three-quarters of an hour’s use, he said. They would be used by the mobile first aid unit at sports events, fairs and other public gatherings. The presentation will be made at a monthly meeting of Canterbury subdivision staff. About 50 representatives from Christchurch divisions will be present.
