Bitter blow
Because of the threat they posed to New Zea-; land-made farm machines,; motor-cycles of the en-; duro class have been put; back under import licence; control. This means that this type of machine will! probably be in short sup-; ply from now on—a bitter; blow to the hundreds of; trail riding enthusiasts. The enduro machines can, with minor modifications, be turned into Ideal farm machines and farmers have become quick to realise this. Unfortunately, the New Zealand-made machines, designed specifl- : cally for farm use, cannot ; be adapted for use as trail ; mounts. Trail riding is an ac- ; tlvity becoming increas- ; ingly popular in New Zea- ; land and it will be a great ' shame if the movement is : to be still-bom because of ; a lack of suitable ma- ; chines.
