Building permits
The number and value of building permits isued by the Christchurch City Council last month were almost the same as those for July of last year one more permit, at 331, and a value of $1,883,919, compared with $1,727,982. Allowing for increased costs, there was little difference in the values for the permits issued for the various classes of buildings. For the first four months of the financial year the council has issued 1344 permits with a value of $6,274,936, compared with 1295 valued at $9,188,278 at the comparable time last year.
