Princess celebrates
(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) PORTSMOUTH, Aug. 3. Beat music rang out across the water, and young couples danced into the early hours of this morning on the normally staid Royal yacht Britannia, as Princess Anne celebrated her twenty-first birthday.
The Princess is not 21 until August 15, but by then she will be cruising on the Royal yacht with her family in the Scottish islands; so it was decided to hold her party early. .of the Royal Family present included the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Alexandra and her husband, Mr Angus Ogilvy; and there were 120 guests. Two notable absentees were Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, who, Princess Margaret’s official spokesman said, were “away in the country with friends.”
The Queen left Portsmouth by road for London this morning, and the Britannia sailed .for the Isle of Wight, where, with Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Anne aboard, she will remain for the Cowes Regatta Week.
