36 still in 1971 Derby
Thirty-six horses made the second payment for the NewZealand Derby Stakes, which will be run at Addington Raceway on Saturday, November 20. The original entries for the 1971 race totaUed 146. Eighty-four of the 139 original entries for the 1972 Derby Stakes made the first payment, which also feU due this week. Most of the top-ranked two-year-olds of last season are included among those for whom payment was made for this year’s Derby. Among those not entered, for the race are Ar Miss and Kilat, the first two to finish in the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, and another highly-regarded youngster in Lightsey. Provision Is made for a late entry at a fee of $5OO.
