(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) CHICAGO. Australia's B. Crampton shot a final-round, even-par 71 to win the $30,000 first prize in the Western open golf tournament. L. Trevino, the United States, Canadian, and British Open champion, managed his best round of the tournament in the bright warm sunshine —a one-under-par 70—but finished far back in the field at 291.

The 35-year-old Crampton finished with a total of 279 —five under par—on the surprisingly tough, 6749-yard Olympia Field Country Club course. Scores:—
