M. Litolff retires
The New Zealand representative and Canterbury sprint and 10-mile cycling champion, M. W. Liltolff, has retired. Litolff has dominated provincial sprint title events since he turned senior in 1967, and won the 10-mile title in 1967, as well as last season. He represented New Zealand against the touring Italian and German teams and toured Australia with the national team in 1968. A 24-year-old Christchurch draughtsman, Litolff has been a competitive cyclist since the age of 10. Factors such as the lack of time to train and the expense involved in competing influenced his decision, and he now intends limiting his sporting activities to an occasional game of squash.
