HOUSEWIVES’ “PRICE WAR.” —Housewives at Fazakerley, Liverpool, in an attempt to persuade shops to reduce prices, have formed an action group. Observers note prices of commodities in the shops, and the information is chalked on a blackboard for all shoppers to see. Housewives have paraded with blackboards outside shops thought to be charging too much. Mrs Veronica Kelly is shown in charges of the “Best Buys” blackboard. Some shops are reported to have reduced prices in response to the group’s efforts.
