Hairdressing
Sir,—Through your columns I wish to ask the administration officer of the Government Tourist Bureau why the female members of his office are having their hair done in working hours? . Office business must be slack at this time of the year but surely it is wrong for Gqv- ’ eminent employees (some 1 graded) to be using working ; hours in this manner.— Yours, etc., : MISS MOP. ; July 9, 1971. [Mr L. F. Manning, district i manager of the Tourist and I Publicity Department, replies: . “ ‘Miss Mop’ will be inter- • ested to know that the girls f at the Government Tourist Bureau are given authority to
■ have their hair done during a i changed lunch-hour or, if it i takes more than one hour, - then the extra time is made ! up. Frequently, our staff 1 take staggered lunch hours ■ to cope with the traffic, and many nights do not finish ! office work until 5.30 pun. i Numbers of girls are rostered : to meet overseas visitors arriving at the airport at all : hours of the day and night [ (week-ends, holidays, etc.)”]
