CRICKET TOUR
Clarification sought
The decision on the projected New Zealand cricket tour of the West Indies next year has been further delayed. "At this stage, all we can say is that we’ve written to the West Indies for clarification of certain details, and it will be considered at the meeting of the board on July 9,” the chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council’s board of control (Mr J. G. Leggat) said last evening. At a previous meeting the board had received a formal invitation from the West Indies setting out terms for the tour from January to April. The executive had then written to members asking whether they favoured a decision on the matter being made by correspondence or at a special board meeting. The members replies were received at the executive's meeting on Thursday evening.
