Basketball in morning
In order to give men’s basketball players the opportunity to see the British Lions Rugby side in action this afternoon, the sixth round of the Canterbury A grade club competition will
be playedtin Cowles Stadium this morning. This will be the first time the competition has been played so early, and contrasts sharply with the evening games last week-end. Two games will start at 9.45 a.m. Checkers and High School Old Boys will meet on the main court in a match which might well decide the battle for third place. On the back court, Rangiora and Bumham will clash in what will be for them an equally important fixture. The outcome will decide who stays on the bottom of the rung. The third game—between the competition leaders, University, and the much improved Old Maroons side—will begin on the main court at 11 a.m.
