UPPER WAITAKI POWER DEVELOPMENT.—The final beams being placed on the new bridge which will Carry State Highway 8 over the Tekapo-to-Pukaki hydro-electricity canal 10 miles south of Tekapo. The bridge, 150ft long, is 45ft above the level of the existing highway. The Ministry of Works has to complete the decking and place guard-rails before the bridge is opened to traffic next month.
