Games funds
Sir, —I wonder if you would be kind enough to pass on this cheque for $5O to Mr Ron Scott and his Commonwealth Games Promotion Committee. It represents a donation from the Diamond Harbour Cricket Club. We felt that, as the Games must have such far-reaching benefits for the whole community, it was a very worthy project to support. We should like, if possible, the money to be used towards upgrading the facilities at Lancaster Park, for in this way cricket-lovers would benefit also in the years ahead. The Games committee have shown vigour and enterprise, and are to be congratulated, and we sincerely hope the Games will be an outstanding success.— Yours, etc., DICK BARNETT. President, Diamond Harbour Cricket Club. June 16, 1971.
