Bowls council election
Mr D. Martin, the senior vice-president of the Christchurch Bowling Centre, was elected to the council of the New Zealand Bowling Association on Monday evening. In a four-way vote taken at the centre's monthly meeting, Mr Martin was elected. The sitting councillors, Messrs J. A. Moloney and H. C. Collett were re-elected. The unsuccessful candidate was Mr W. J. Cole. Mr F. L. Murray, who had been nominated, withdrew from the election on the grounds of ill health.
