N.Z. PISTOL TITLES

Contests at

McLeans Is.

A Wellington pistol shooter B. McMillan (Heretaunga), this week-end will be defending the two titles he won last year at the New Zealand Pistol Association’s first national championships. Contestants from pistol clubs from several parts of New Zealand will be competing at the McLeans Island range for the two pistol titles —the 50 metres free and the 25 metres rapid-fire shoots. J. Harper and his wife, Ann, should give the Christchurch club a strong representation. Mrs Harper finished fourth last year in the free pistol section. Two Nelson shooters, R. Muller arid L. Staig, should serve their province well. Staig has a good reputation in the rapid-fire section.

After the titles have been decided, the national selectors wil Ichoose a team of 10 to contest an international shoot run through the National Rifle Association of America.
