Hint of U.E. changes
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, April 21. Changes in the requirements for entrance to New Zealand universities were hinted at by the Minister of Education (Mr Taiboys) last night. The Minister was opening the fiftieth national conference of the Booksellers’ Association at Wairakei.
At present, there was a great deal of interest in the development of internal assessment, and the University Entrance Board had suggested changes in the university entrance examination, he said.
“This is leading to a great deal of discussion, and alternatives are being considered. I am not in a position at the moment to forecast, but I am quite certain there will be \ changes in the foreseeable . future,” Mr Taiboys said ! afterwards.
