Alcan extends marketing outlets in building
Alcan New Zealand, Ltd, acquired a minority financial interest in three companies engaged in the manufacture and distribution of aluminium windows, sliding doors and allied products, the managing director of Alcan (Mr A. H. Swift) announced yesterday.
The companies are Rolls Holdings, Ltd, Hamilton, NuLook Windows (N.Z.), Ltd, Cambridge, and Nebulite International, Ltd, Tauranga. All three companies offer a wide range of top-quality domestic and commercial aluminium joinery, including awning and sliding windows and sliding doors, which are manufactured from Wiri-
made Alcan aluminium extrusions.

“Alcan’s existing extrusion facilities, together with a new extrusion press due for first production during May, and part of the $6.5 million expansion programme, will ensure an adequate and rapid supply of extrusion to meet all foreseeable demands for top quality competitive joinery. “Alcan will be represented on the boards of each company.” In a statement from Hamilton the managing director of Rolls Industries, Ltd (Mr C. J. Kirkland-Smith) said that his company welcomed Alcan’s participation, and the addition of an Alcan representative to the Rolls board. He noted that Rolls Industries was founded in Hamilton about five years ago, and in rapid growth over the last three years had built up 160 joiner agents throughout the country. In the last 15 months it had also opened factories in Christchurch and Fiji.
