Acceptance of C.S.W. is 90%
Shareholders holding more than 90 per cent of the capital of Coulls Soverville Wilkie, Ltd had accepted Whitcombe and Tombs’ offer of a merger, the chairman of Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd (Mr L. D. Cotterill) announced yesterday. This fulfilled one of the conditions of the offer, he said.
But the merger is still conditional on the passing of the necessary resolutions by the shareholders of the two companies. Whitcombe and Tombs will hold a meeting on April 28, and Coulls Somerville Wilkie will hold its meeting on May 5. Mr Cotterill also said that the final date for acceptance had been extended to May 31; after that it was intended to compulsorily acquire those shares for which acceptances might not have been received.
