Farm talks in U.S.
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent)
WASHINGTON, April 21. The president of Federated Farmers (Mr A. C. Begg) and the federation’s general secretary (Mr J. Pryde) have arrived in Washington for talks with farm leaders and officials of the United States Department of Agriculture. They left Auckland on April 11 and have been meeting American farm organisations. Mr Pryde said on Monday that during discussions in Denver they had found a good deal of support for the co-operative promotional arrangement agreed by New Zealand, Australian, and American sheep producers. There were signs, he believed, that New Zealand’s lamb selling effort in the United States was about to bring a much greater sales volume than had so far been realised.
