Trotters for Canada
Fair Play and Tasman, two horses which graduated to the top trotting company, will in I future race in Canada. They will I leave for their new owners in J the next few days. Fair Play has been secured by the Canadian trainer, Y. Bailiergeong, who has enjoyed considerable success with Disband and Le Chant, two other big winners in New Zealand. Baillergeong recently spent a fortnight in New 'Zealand with another Canadian I trainer-driver, J. Filion. ! Fair Play, a member of the team trained at Templeton by :D. G. Jones and J.' Grant, won I nine races and recorded a long • list of placings for his Christchurch owners, Mr and Mrs D. G. Matheson, for whom he won .more than $12,000. An eight-year-old gelding by Court Martial ■ i from Tat Scott, he is a brother to another top trotter, Merrir. t Tasman, an ejght-year-old gelding by Smokey Hanover I. from Adoration, was trained at ; Methven by C. V. and T. M. i May for Messrs D. and T. Smith 1 and T.
