U.K. releases trade figures

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, April 21. Britain’s overseas trade account in March showed a surplus of Elm. This is compared with a deficit of £66m in February. The February trade returns were considerably distorted because of delays in trading brought about by the postal strike; the March figure is also unrealistic, because it includes some of the backlog. Direct trading—the buying and selling of goods overseas —was almost in balance during March; exports returned £74Bm and imports £747m.
