(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 20. No proposals were at present before the Government on increased rail charges, said a spokesman for the Minister of Railways (Mr Gordon) today. On Friday, the Acting Prime Minister (Mr Marshall) said the problems of railway finance had been discussed by the Government caucus and that increased charges were inevitable.
However, Mr Marshall said after the Cabinet met yesterday that the question had not been before the meeting.
