City property passed in
A three-storey commercial building and basement of about 7500 sq ft, at 72 Lichfield Street, was passed in for $44,000 at auction at Livingstone’s yesterday. Bidding for the property was slow and the auctioneer, Mr R. R. Livingstone, passed it in after only four bids. A property of 37.5 perches with three old factory buildings, at 30 Goodman Road, Burwood, was passed»in at auction yesterday for $3500. The Government valuation was $5950. The auctioneer for N. H. McCrostie and Company, was Mr M. H. McCrostie.
A two-bedroomed bungalow at 2 Tanner Street, Woolston, on a section of 28.7 perches, was passed in for $6OOO at an auction held by Binns Barber and Keenan yesterday. The Government valuation was $5500.
A two-bedroom cottage on a section of 20 perches at 27 Maunsell Street, Woolston, was offered for auction by the same firm. It was passed in for $3500. The auctioneer at both sales was Mr E. G. Keenan.
A six-bedroom weatherboard house on a 30.9 perch section, 69 Winchester Street. Merivale, was sold for $11,600.
Bidding began at $ll,OOO and rose in $lOO units to $11,500, then in $5O rises until it was sold. It had a Government valuation of $7BOO.
The auctioneer was Mr A. E. Barrell, of A. E. Barrell and Company.
