Hopes fade for miners

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyripht.) WARSAW, March 28. The chances of saving ten miners trapped in a South 'Polish coal mine diminished I yesterday—rescuers reported no sign of the entombed men after four days and nights of trying to reach them. Fresh rock falls were endangering rescue squads, which comprised experienced ' crews from all over the Sileisian coalfield. The men were cut off about 2625 ft below the surface when a coal wall collapsed last Tuesday, in the Rokitnica pit, at Zabrze, near Katowice. Eight injured miners were rescued soon afterwards, and rescuers found the body of one man on Thursday.
