Frank Townsend, aged 30, a former American college basketball star who is now the head of a youth sports project in the slums of New York, backed by the First National Bank, has been arrested for the alleged possessing of more than SUSI.Sm worth of. heroin. He was arrested last night on a street near his home in the Bronx, and is said by the police to have been carrying a bag containing 31b of heroin. A search of his apartment disclosed about SUS2O.OOO in cash and a 42 calibre pistol, the police say.—New York, March 28.
