Hong Kong bombs

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) HONG KONG, March 29. A police ballistics expert today exploded a bomb in Hong Kong’s central Kowloon area as a bomb scare which began on Saturday grew to serious proportions. It was the third explosion in less than 36 hours. The second and third were deliberately detonated by experts but the first blew up as a ballistics officer, Mr Norman Hill, was trying to defuse an explosive device. Mr Hill’s shattered arm was later amputated below the elbow. He was reported in a satisfactory condition in hospital today.
