PASSED IN AT $53,000
An industrial property of five acres at Shands Road, Hornby, with a Government valuation of $17,100, was passed in for $53,000 at auction yesterday. Bidding began at $45,000 and , rose in units of $lOOO to $53,000. Six persons attended the auction at which the auctioneer was Mr W. Knight, of Whittle, Knight, and Boatwood, Ltd. A modern three-bedroomed brick house on 32 perches at 47 Epsom Road, Sockbum, was sold for $lO,OOO at auction. The Government valuation was $6500. The auctioneer was Mr C. R. Blackett, of Livingstone and Company. A small bungalow on a double section of 20 perches at 150 Tedder Avenue, North New Brighton, with a Government valuation of $3500, was passed in at $3BOO. An adjoining double section of 33 perches with a Government valuation of $1550 was sold for $1950. Twenty persons attended. The auctioneer was Mr J. T. L. Dyer, of George Anderson and Son, Ltd. A small weatherboard cottage on a hillside section of 17 perches at 55 §umner Road, Lyttelton, jsold for $ll5O. The Government valuation was $l2OO. The auctioneer was Mr J. T. L.
