Queenstown trees
Sir, —I am very grateful to. Mr St Barbe Baker for drawing attention to the fact that it is planned to sacrifice trees along the foreshore at Queenstown in order that a luxury hotel may be built there. Could you please advise which trees are to be removed and whether residents in the vicinity object to having their view of lake and mountain replaced by such a large building?— Yours, etc., E.A.J. February 24, 1971. [No reply has been received, from the Queenstown Borough Council, which was invited to comment on this letter.]
