You should write to the newspaper concerned. H. G. M. Kerkhofs.—A peasant is “one who lives in the country and works on the land” (Shorter Oxford English Dictionary); a fanner “rents land for the purpose of cultivation” or “farms land, whether as tenant or owner.”
