Action body to meet again

(N.Z. Press Association)

HAMILTON, Mar. 28. The next step in the Waikato Fanners’ Action Committee’s campaign to spur the Government into action over fanning problems will come in 10 days. r “We meet again on April 6,” the committee’s leader (Mr A. E. Symons) said at the week-end. “We’ll see what’s developed by that time.” The committee took direct action on two fronts on Friday, when about 200 fanners picketed wharf gates and railway lines at Auckland and Mount Maunganui in a bid to block the export of farm products.

Mr Symons said that if the Government did not take some notice of what had happened it was more foolish than he thoi&ht. But he said there would be no ultimatums at this stage.
