Obituary
MR NICHOLAS FERRAR Mr Nicholas Ferrar, the elder son of a zoologist to Captain Scott and a former resident of Christchurch, died in England recently at the age of 57.
Mr Ferrar was the son of Dr Hartley Ferrar, zoologist to Captain Scott's expedition to the Antarctic in 1902.
During the 1930 s Mr Ferrar lived and worked at Kowhai Bush before moving to Wellington. After his father’s death in 1934, Mr Ferrar left New Zealand with his family to live in England.
From 1945 he was on the staff of the National Institute of Agricultural Botany where he was secretory at the time of his death.
