Canterbury skier leads
(N.Z. Press Association? WANGANUI. The Canterbury champion, J. Caimey, established herself as a clear favourite for the vacant women’s slalom title when the national water-ski-ing championships began at Lake Wiritoa yesterday. Miss Caimey displayed excellent form in the qualifying event, scoring 27 points and was top qualifier for Saturday’s final. Second equal, with 21 points, were P. Clapshaw (Canterbury) and P. Carmichael (Auckland). J. Smith, the national champion and record holder, is now living in Australia.
