Rose to meet Japanese
W.Z.F.A .-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO. The World Boxing Council junior light-weight champion, Y. Numata of Japan, and Australia’s L. Rose will meet in a 15-round title bout on June 4 in Hiroshima. A formal contract for the bout has been signed by Rose. The former bantam-weight champion is expected to arrive in Japan about two weeks before the fight Numata, who wrested the title from R. Barrientos of the Philippines last April, is defending the title for the third time. Numata will have a 10-round non-title bout in Tokyo on April 23 against Mexico’s R. Arrendondo, who failed in his challenge against the World Boxing Association junior light-weight champion, H. Kokayashi of Japan, on March 4, in Tokyo.
