Boy shot
(N.Z. Press Association) WHAKATANE, Mar. 23. A boy was killed instantly when accidentally shot through the head with a .22 rifle at Te Teko, 12 miles from Whakatane last evening. He was Apiata Sinclair Vercoe, aged nine, of Te Teko. The boy and his younger brother were left alone in a utility vehicle for a few minutes by their father.
