WANGANUI WORK
Angel’s Smile in fine trial “The Press 3 ' Special Service WANGANUI. Angel’s Smile showed her readiness to atone for her firstday disappointment with a fine trial at Wanganui yesterday morning for Saturday’s Manawatu Mile. Working 35ft out on the course proper, Angel’s Smile beat Morning Dew by five lengths, coming from the six in Imin 18sec, the last three in 38sec.
Angel’s Smile showed no zest on the first day at her first appearance following a setback. She has obviously been improved by the race. Goldy Girl, which also races in the Manawatu Mile, ran 10 furlongs. She came from the six in Imin 17 4-ssec, and from the three in 38sec. Kia Tai ran the last three of five furlongs in 36 3-ssec, and was shading her stablemate, Kia Lu, at the finish. Kia Tai is very fit for the Adderstone Handicap. Red Wolf was going better than Bally Castle after five in Imin 4 3-ssec, the last three in 37 3-ssec. Red Wolf seemed to appreciate the slightly rainaffected conditions.
