Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon on a controversial note. A notice of motion lodged by Mr W. L. Young (Nat., Miramar), attacked the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk) an urgent question by Mr M. A. Connelly (Lab., Wigram), assailed alleged Government mishandling of the staffing of the McKenzie Residential School, and an adjournment motion was debated on the Mount Eden Prison outbreak. Nine questions were answered, and permission was given for Select Committees to sit during the recess. The debate on Mount Eden continued until 5.30 p.m. without a vote being taken. During the evening discussion on the Stabilisation of Remuneration Bill continued in committee.
