Ryun may compete
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. There is still a slim chance that the world mile recordholder, J. Ryun (United States), will run in the international athletics meeting at Mount Smart Stadium tomorrow night. If be does it will be in the two-mile event in which K. O’Brien (Australia), and T. J. Quax (New Zealand) are expected to go close to breaking R. Clarke’s world record of Bmin 19.6 sec. Ryun completed half-an-hour of jogging with his United States team-mate, T. von Ruden, in the Auckland Domain yesterday. While Ryun’s injured right calf is far from healed, it is improving.
