Cashmere has easy victory
Cashmere High School had a comfortable win In its annual two-day cricket match against Waimea College, Nelson, which finished yesterday. The outstanding Cashmere players were P. Newburn, who made a century in two hours and a half, and G. Magon, who took nine wickets in the match. Scores:— Waimea 102 (R. Pyers 24 not out A. Jackson 20; Magon 6/24) and 149 (J. Levy 69. S. Gill 25; T. Cattermole 6/73, Magon 3/52), Cashmere 211/6 declared (Newburn 106 not out, R. Wilson 71, Levy 3/61) and 42/1.
