ACQUITTAL OF DOCTOR

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, March 21. A petition urging the British Prime Minister (Mr Heath) to ban the issue of birthcontrol pills to unmarried girls under' 18 has been delivered to No. 10 Downing Street. The plea, signed by 4350 parents in England’s second city, Birmingham, was prompted by the recent case in which a Birmingham doctor was acquitted of serious professional misconduct by a medical disciplinary committee after he had told the parents of a girl, aged 16, that she was on the pill. A spokesman for the petitioners said: “We got up the petition because we admired the doctor’s action, and to show that we were right behind him.”
