Pygmalion theme
The theme of “Cinema Verite” in the “Love Story” series is the Pygmalion story, but with a different twist. A young film-maker goes to Spain to make a documentary about a famous director who is living in retirement with his beautiful former film star wife. The director thinks of his wife Isabel as his last and greatest creation but the disturbing presence of the young man throws up some strange truths about their lives.
“Love Story: Cinema Verite” which stars John Gregson and Valerie French, screens from CHTV3 on Monday.
