Yacht fatality near Picton
- (N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, March 22. A Grovetown boy died as the result of a yachting mishap in Waikawa Bay, near Picton, yesterday afternoon. He was Paul Nelson Kerr, aged 12, son of Mr and Mrs J. Kerr, at Main Road, Grovetown. The boy had been sailing a P-class yacht It was seen to be off course about 4 o'clock. The boy’s father went to investigate and found his son floating in the water near the yacht. The boy was wearing a lifejacket.
