Hotel raffles opposed

AUCKLAND, Mar. 22. Because of the health risk, butchers are trying to stop the raffling of meat in hotels. The national conference of the Meat Retailers’ Federation was told in Auckland today that some hotel trusts had instructed their managers to prohibit raffles. The secretary (Mr D. J Fyfe) said the subject had also been discussed with the Hotel Association of New. Zealand, which had already taken steps to discourage members from allowing premises to be used for conducting raffles.
