Dixon fee paid
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Cronulla-Sutherland, beaten on Saturday in the final of the Sydney Rugby league’s pre-season competition, has paid a $6OOO negotiating grant for the Kiwi second-row forward, J. K. Dixon (West Coast), Mr A. E. Chapman, the secretary of the New Zealand league, announced yesterday. Cronulla, with Dixon in the pack, was beaten 20-7 by St George in the final. Two other Sydney teams with Kiwis among the forwards featured in Saturday’s play-offs for third and fourth. Newtown (O. G. Danielson) beat Canterbury-Bankstown (W. P. Noonan), 10-8.
