Biddle bid foiled
(N.Z. Press A sn—Copyright) LONDON. B. Biddle, the New Zealander who won the Commonwealth Games road championship at Edinburgh last year, was robbed of almost certain victory in the 73-mile London to Folkstone road race when marshals failed to direct him on the correct course with only six miles remaining. Biddle had a commanding lead j and was well clear Of his pursuers when he reached a roundabout and went straight on when he should have been directed to go right. Motor-cycle marshals who had been delayed by traffic conditions chased after him, but before he could be recalled three riders had passed the roundabout, and S. Heffernan went on to gain a lucky win.
