Computerised intelligence

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, March 22. The United States Army gathered intelligence dossiers on 25 million American civilians before public outrage forced it to curtail these activities last June, according to the American magazine “Life.” It says that the heart of the operation was a computerised data bank at Fort Holabird, Maryland, an Army intelligence command headquarters, which contained millions of pieces of information about individuals and incidents.

There were three other date banks, at Alexandria, Virginia, Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Monroe, Virginia.
