Withdrawal from Vietnam

Sir,—The claim of “M.C.H.” and fellow-Leftists that America’s presence in the war against communism in Indo-China is an act of American “imperialist aggression” is as absurb as saying that the American involvement in the 1939-45 war against Nazism and fascism was an act of American imperialism. And if “M.C.H.” thinks that World War II was simply a Nazi-Fascist struggle against communism, he is sadly mistaken. After all, the Western Powers would hardly have fought to defend communism. To E. R. Hudson although capitalism does have its faults it is q much more progressive, less oppressive, system than the stagnant ant-heap of socialism.—Yours, THE SPRINGBOK. March 22, 1971.
