Athletics.—The Swede, K. fsaksson, cleared 17ft 9in in the pole vault at Cleveland, Ohio, to set a new world indoor record. The previous best, 17ft Siin, was set by the German, W. Nordwig. Hockey.—England and France drew M in a men’s hockey international in London on Saturday.
