Suburban cricket to Bumside

In a grandstand finish to the Senior A competition, Burnside won the grade by a point from Hornby. In their match at Denton Oval, Hornby required first, innings points to win the competition. It made 184 laat Saturday against Sumner. At one stage Sumner was two down for 136, then in a sensational finish Sumner was out for 184.

This gave Hornby three pointe and as Burnside gained firstinnings- points against Heathcote this gave it the win in the competition. During the 10 games played in the season the lead changed seven times. In the other game, between Waltham and Beckenham (last season first and second respectively) Waltham won, thanks to an excellent Innings by Noel Clark (103 not out) and W. Black (69).
