PORT BUSY AGAIN
The Lyttelton waterfront was a hive of activity yesterday morning when work resumed after a one day and a half protest stoppage by members of the combined port unions. Although 569 men were engaged to work vessels in port there was a labour shortage of 153 men, and the Galway and Risdon were initially idle. Five overseas vessels which were due at Lyttelton during the last few days have been diverted because of the congestion. They are the Cap Vincent, Main Lloyd, Bamora, City of Auckland and the Port Alfred.
